I'd love it if you'd introduce yourself, what you do, and what you're working on.
My name is Livia Marati. I’m a women’s holistic health coach, hatha yoga instructor and founder of Ina Wellness Collective.
Ina Wellness Collective is based on the beautiful island of Guam, and we design holistic wellness events and retreats. In addition, we offer women’s health coaching programs and have a growing membership community and network of international partners and practitioners.
These days, we’re gearing up for our next round of events including our Self-Care Saturday Retreat, a 3-part beginner yoga series and a full moon yoga and sound bath pop-up event. We also are opening enrollment for both our private and group coaching programs soon.
How did you get started?
I grew up on Guam, but spent the last 14+ years living and working in San Francisco and Amsterdam. My background is in the events industry and I’ve held a wide range of roles in sales, training, and learning and development. Alongside my career, I’ve always been passionate about wellness and, in particular, retreats. As an avid traveler, I was always seeking out wellness travel and experiences.
I knew I wanted to start my own business at some point as well as have that be back on Guam, so the creation of Ina Wellness Collective was the perfect intersection fusing together my experience and love for events with my passion for health and wellness. Ahead of launching my business, I also became a certified holistic health coach and went through my yoga teacher training in Bali.
What Inspired the work you’re doing?
My life has been changed from diving deeper into self-discovery through yoga, meditation, breathwork, nutrition, retreats, etc. I have been so inspired by my own experience and journey, that it feels in alignment with my purpose to share it with others.
Specifically on Guam, I’m also looking to also make wellness accessible and to inspire a healthy holistic lifestyle on the island.
What is your biggest passion? Do you feel like you're living your passion and purpose?
I absolutely feel like I’m doing exactly what I’m supposed to be doing. My biggest passion is to design experiences and hold space for people to reconnect with themselves, tap into their higher selves and elevate their wellness journey.
What is your joy blueprint? What lights you up, brings you joy, and makes you feel the most alive?
I have always felt the most alive and present while traveling. Whether it’s discovering a brand new place or revisiting an old place with new eyes, I tend to find inspiration and have new ideas when I’m exploring. A few other things that light me up include my inner circle of incredible women in my life, attending retreats as a participant, and being home with my husband and golden retriever puppies.
How do you live intentionally? Are there tools/resources/practices that you rely on to help you stay mindful and grounded?
I’m a huge fan of simple joyful morning ritual. For me, it’s easy practices that set the tone for the day including limiting screen time, lighting incense, turning on some music, hydrating and prioritizing a morning workout a few times a week. Exercise has been the habit that has the biggest ripple effect in other areas of my life.
As an entrepreneur, I have also found it really important to set work/life boundaries. When I’m not hosting events, I keep my weekends sacred. I also make it a point to “power down” before dinner and schedule my calls and meetings to start later in the morning so I have time to ease into the day. It’s really easy when starting a business to say yes to everything, but I’ve learned that this intentional creation of my schedule and lifestyle will help avoid burnout in the future.
What would your younger self think about what you're doing now?
My younger self would be so proud of me for going for it! Looking back at my past experiences, it feels only natural that I’m here doing exactly what I’m supposed to be doing.
Do you have a go-to mantra or affirmation?
Trust the process.
What is your biggest dream?
