I'd love it if you'd introduce yourself, what you do, and what you're working on.

Hi There! My name is Jenny Christiansen, and I like to call myself a "people investor." Thankfully I have found myself doing precisely that!  I spent 25 years as an educator, both as a classroom teacher and administrator.  Currently, I am a Certified Life Coach and an inspirational speaker.  I treasure the opportunities to work with individuals, small groups, and large audiences to inspire them to live their best life. It is one lived joyfully, productively, and authentically. My formula for living that way is what I call the I to I Principle.  It begins with discovering and celebrating your unique identity and then journeying toward your place of impact.

How did you get started?

My whole life has been a canvas of placing value on relationships.  I love being with people.  The road of "people investment" became solidified after becoming a teacher. The academic aspects of the classroom setting are indeed important.  The reality is, though, that many of the facts that are taught will be forgotten-but what won't be is the imprint an educator leaves on a student's life.  The opportunities I had to make a difference have driven me for years, thus leading me to life coaching and speaking.

What inspired the work that you're doing?

I have experienced some dark moments in my life.  At times, I have felt that my identity had been stripped away, but I understand now that it wasn't, and cannot be taken from me.   With transparency and encouragement, I want people to realize that the hardest challenges and experiences can drive us to live more courageously than ever.  Identity matters and the world needs what every person possesses.

What is your biggest passion? Do you feel like you're living your passion and purpose?

I relish in inspiring people to do what they are called to do and to help them get through life's storms.  Too often, we spend so much time comparing ourselves to others, are driven by our past, and sometimes never reach our place of impact. My biggest passion is to walk life's journey with people who need me.

What is your joy blueprint? What lights you up, brings you joy, and makes you feel the most alive?

Joy is not just probable, it is possible.  I have a fabulous family, invaluable friendships, and reliable business partners.   I could never be who I am without these people! One of my talks is entitled, "The Boat, the Rope and the Anchor."  The boat represents life-giving relationships, the rope is that of genuine connection, and the anchor is about recognizing and staying grounded in who we are created to be.  That's joy.

How do you live intentionally? Are there tools/resources/practices that you rely on to help you stay mindful and grounded?

My Christian beliefs are foundational to my life.  Quiet time, Bible study prayer, and fellowship with others are vital to living purposefully.  I believe exercise, a healthy diet, and fulfilling relationships energize us.  Being willing to operate in your uniqueness is not only a driving force for achieving goals but the foundation for personal fulfillment.

What would your younger self think about what you're doing now?

My younger self needed to hear what I have to say now.  I often felt insecure and wanted desperately to fit in.  I made poor decisions. If the younger Jenny met the current one, I hope she would listen and embrace some new ideas!

Do you have a go-to mantra or affirmation?

The I to I Principle; Live out your identity and leave your impact!

What is your biggest dream?

My most hopeful dream is to pour my heart and efforts into those who are most vulnerable.  Being a youth advocate is my most significant contribution to the world.  The crisis and darkness of human trafficking is a cause I care deeply about. Making contributions to both preventative and restorative efforts would make my life's work worthwhile.
