I'd love it if you'd introduce yourself, what you do, and what you're working on.

Hello. My name is Dr. Veronica Eyo. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Los Angeles, CA. I provide individual and couples counseling services, and have a passion for working with mamas, new and seasoned, and with first generation college students. I am a mother of 3 and my journey of navigating becoming a mother while completing my doctoral degree is what influences my work with clients.

Currently, I am providing Telehealth therapy to clients and making an intention to use Instagram as tool to provide mental health information and resources to others.

How did you get started?

When I was in college, I had a few interactions with social workers, and I was amazed at the work they did. I loved seeing how they connected with others and as I explored more and took on internships, I realized that I had a natural gift towards speaking with others. That combined with my passion to want to help, being a social worker was meant to be.

What Inspired the work you’re doing?

My current work is inspired by my own journey of navigating motherhood. Prior to becoming a mother, I was working with individuals and couples primarily struggling with anxiety, and depression. It is a privilege to be able to walk with someone on their lifelong journey. After I became a mother, especially a mother getting her doctorate degree, I shifted my focus to providing support to mothers, new and seasoned.

What is your biggest passion? Do you feel like you're living your passion and purpose?

My biggest passion is connecting with others. During the pandemic, it was solidified how much I enjoyed connecting with others, building community, and working towards leaving each other even a little bit more supported and empowered. I do believe that I am living in my passion in my work and in my personal relationships.

What is your joy blueprint? What lights you up, brings you joy, and makes you feel the most alive?

Honestly, smiling and laughing with others. I enjoy seeing my kids face light up, my clients feel supported (even if it’s thru a computer screen) and being in community. I feel the most joy when I am working towards being in community with my loved ones and clients.

How do you live intentionally? Are there tools/resources/practices that you rely on to help you stay mindful and grounded?

I journal every day! Some days I write more and some days it’s a sentence. This small act helps me stay grounded in how my day is and if it is how I want to be showing up. Usually on the days I write less, I am feeling disconnected, and I make note of that for the next day.

What would your younger self think about what you're doing now?

I think my younger self would be proud of who have become but would encourage me to rest more! She would be surprised that I struggle with slowing down and remind me that I need to take care of myself to care for others.

Do you have a go-to mantra or affirmation?

“I can have it all but not at the same time. Some things will be dropped”.

What is your biggest dream?

My biggest dream is to have a home filled with lots of laughter and joy but most importantly, not to be rushed. I strive for this dream each day.
