Intentional Media and Using Our Voice

In this week’s bonus episode I share a message that is long overdue: my thoughts on intentional media, my role in it, and why it’s so important to use our voice and our vote.

I’ve always wanted to be really intentional about what it is that I produce here on Seek The Joy Podcast. From day one I’ve wanted this to be a resource and a safe space to tune out the noise, and tune into you.

I’ve been struggling with coming on here and talking about this, because I don’t want to make this political. But the truth is it would be inauthentic for me to not say what it is that I want to say.

On November 6th in the USA we have an election.

I know you already know this - and I also know that not everyone who tunes in to this podcast lives in the USA. But at some point you will have an election. At some point you will have an opportunity for your voice to be heard.

I’m also really mindful of the fact that there are some countries whose citizens don’t have the right to vote, and if they do have the right to vote - the system isn’t always fair, or just. Their voice isn’t always heard.

If you aren’t already registered to vote, please register, and if your deadline hasn’t already passed in your state, please register to vote.

If you are registered or you plan to register after you listen to this week’s episode, make sure that you show up to the polls on November 6th.

Make sure that you exercise your right to vote, make sure you exercise the right for your voice, your values to be heard and to be shared.

This isn’t about politics. This isn’t me telling you how to vote or who to vote for. Instead, it’s about making sure that your voice is heard. This is about being intentional with our voice and our values, and our vote.

Voting is about being intentional and mindful about who and what it is that you value and that you support.

Resources to check out to see if you’re registered and the issues on your ballot:

1) Vote Save America

2) Rock The Vote

Tune into this week’s bonus episode and then join in on the conversation on our Instagram page and hit us with that green checkmark emoji ✅ and let us know that you’re registered!

P.S. This episode was supposed to go out much earlier this month but life got away from me. I struggled with posting this, because I know so many deadlines to register to vote have already passed. But, I’m posting this anyway - because the message applies regardless.
