Betsy Milne and Laura Milne are soulful entrepreneurs, podcast hosts and the creators behind this growing tribe and coaching brand, Luscious Hustle.

The Luscious Hustle is a coaching platform and community with a mission to guide women to reclaim their divine feminine intuition so that they can build businesses that are in alignment with their soul’s purpose. Through their programs they teach ambitious women the skills that they need to attract high-paying clients so that the can leave their 9-5’s. Luscious Hustle was born at a time when both Betsy and Laura were seeking more out of their entrepreneurial journeys.  Betsy was transitioning out of a decade’s long career in the fashion industry while building her health coaching practice and Laura was building a successful network marketing business while working part-time as a pediatric nurse.  They both felt that there were two key elements that were missing for them: community and conversation.

Betsy and Laura connected through an Instagram DM in 2016 and became fast friends. Through their common purpose and passion, they went from total strangers (with the same last name!) to friends and business partners, to help women step out of the safe but stuck zone and walk into the luscious life they’re meant to lead - and the rest is history!

I’m so excited for you guys to connect with Betsy and Laura, check out their coaching programs, work, and podcast as they continue to create a community for women to feel luscious, light - hearted and empowered in their lives.

I'd love it if you'd introduce yourself, what you do, and what you're working on.

We are Betsy Milne & Laura Milne, transformational business coaches, and co-founders of Luscious Hustle, a coaching platform and community guiding women to reclaim their divine feminine intuition so that they can build businesses that make alignment with their soul’s purpose.  Through our signature Mastermind and 1:1 coaching programs, we focus on teaching ambitious women the skills they need to attract high-paying clients so they can leave their 9-5.

How did you get started?

Luscious Hustle was born at a time when Laura and I were both seeking more out of entrepreneurial journeys.  I was transitioning out of a decade’s long career in the fashion industry while building my health coaching practice and Laura was building a successful network marketing business while working part-time as a pediatric nurse.  We both felt that there were two key elements that were missing for us: community and conversation.

We decided to fill that void by launching a podcast in January of 2017 (formally called The Luscious Living Podcast).  We had a burning desire to have interesting and uplifting conversations with women who were simply “doing the damn thing”.  Our goal was simple: to inspire and be inspired.  We didn’t have a plan for monetization and literally had no clue what we were doing, but we made a commitment to show up each week as authentically as possible and to provide high-quality information and interviews for our community.

We spent that first year really listening and responding to what our audience was asking for.   It became clear very early on that we had a love for business and loved to talk about the behind-the-scenes strategies that were working for ourselves and our guests.   Through that simple strategy of taking inspired action every week and listening, we realized our calling was empowering women to step into their power by helping them build their dream businesses.

People always ask how we are related - are we sisters, cousins or even life partners?  The truth is that while we share the same last name we are actually NOT related.  We are simply two strangers that met on Instagram back in the summer of 2016 and who made a genuine connection (in a DM no less)!  We live in two different countries, 3000 miles apart and in separate time zones.  Yet together, we built a multiple six-figure business in less than 18 months.

We understand what it takes to turn a side-hustle / passion project into a thriving full-time business.  Together we have over 20 years of experience building successful businesses and we love teaching what we know to our students and clients.

What inspired the work that you're doing?

Betsy: I spent most of my 20s and all of my 30s prioritizing career success over everything else in my life.  While I reached all my professional goals (becoming a VP at 30, building million-dollar accounts from scratch, and traveling the world), I always felt like something was missing.  After ignoring all the obvious signs that I wasn’t happy, my body finally decided I needed a wake-up call.  I spent a year ignoring the almost daily migraines and panic attacks before my body literally burned out and I found myself at the hospital fearing I’d had a stroke.  I was 36 and I realized then that if I didn’t make a change, my current lifestyle would probably kill me.  I signed up to get my health coaching certification with no goal to start my own business, but because I knew that if I could heal myself then I could help heal other people.  It was the best decision I ever made.

Laura: I pretty much came out of the womb a feminist.  Even as a young girl, the disparity I saw between men and women really angered me.  I was very aware that the opportunities to earn money and gain influence were positioned very differently based on your sex.  I’ve always felt I was meant to be a social change maker. While being a pediatric nurse certainly allowed me to impact lives in a very acute and tangible way, I knew I was meant for more and somehow destined to cultivate community and lead women to rise.

What is your biggest passion? Do you feel like you're living your passion and purpose?

Betsy:   I 100% feel like I’m living my purpose and passion because the work that I do encompasses everything I love: coaching, healing, business, learning and empowering women to feel like they have options.

Laura: No question, I’m living my purpose.  If $100 million dropped into my lap tomorrow, I can honestly say I’d still get up and do the work that we do. Coaching women to step into their divine feminine and become leaders who change our world by changing their world first, will always be my passion.

What is your joy blueprint? What lights you up, brings you joy, and makes you feel the most alive?

Betsy:  My joy blueprint is always changing and really rooted in what is lighting me up emotionally at the time. Coaching and supporting our clients brings me the most joy and so I try to align my days so I can energetically show up as my highest self.  Currently, that’s carving out time to read every day, meditation, and spending as much time outside (preferably barefoot) as possible.

Laura: My joy blueprint is grounded in my relationships with my daughter, my friends and family. If I could capture my joy as a moment in time, it would be this: dinners with friends that end in late nights talking and laughing over a table strewn with the dirty dishes none of us are getting up to wash.

How do you live intentionally? Are there tools/resources/practices that you rely on to help you stay mindful and grounded?

Betsy:  Out of the two of us, I am the most sensitive to energy fluctuations and health swings.  I have an arsenal of energetic tools that I use daily: adaptogen coffee, crystals, essential oils and I’m also very mindful/intentional about the food I eat.  When I need to get grounded or tune back into my body, I always start with a full-body energy scan and then try to get outside for a bit.

Laura: I used to be deep in my masculine energy and alllll about the hustle.  When we first started Luscious Hustle I was home with my baby girl so the business was built between 5am to 7am, and 7pm to 10pm...PLUS I worked night shifts at the hospital every weekend. #burnout  Learning to honor my sleep chronotype (I’m a Bear), and making a commitment to moving my body regularly (Orange Theory Fitness, hot yoga, pole dance and paddle boarding)  has been key to keeping my into my divine feminine flow.

What would your younger self think about what you're doing now?

Betsy: My younger self would probably be laughing and saying “what took you so long?”  Growing up I always knew I would be my own boss and run a company and I’ve been obsessed with the mechanics of running a business for as long as I can remember.  Deep down, I’ve always known that I also wanted to do spiritual work and change the lives of other people… But I got stuck on how that fit in with this vision of myself as a CEO.  Now I see that they can both co-exist and that by embracing both, I get to live my purpose every single day.

Laura:  My younger self would be in shock!!  Never in her wildest dreams did the former version of myself thin that she’d become an entrepreneur, single mama working from home doing deep spritiual transformations for business growth with women from all over the world.oh and using the MOON as an energetic and business tool.  My old self would be completely speechless.

Do you have a go-to mantra or affirmation?

Betsy:  One of my favorite mantras has always been “Om Namah Shivaya”.  It is a Sanskrit mantra that I started using daily about 15 years ago (and that I have tattooed on my wrist as a constant reminder).  I was taught that when translated it means “I bow to Shiva” with Shiva representing your inner, truest self.

The sounds themselves also represent all the elements (earth, air, fire, water, and ether) so when repeated, it grounds me in the present, activating my heart, and connecting me with my highest self.

Laura:  My current motto is: ‘People who debate if the glass is half-empty or half-full miss the point. The glass is refillable.’ The first affirmation I ever worked with was: ‘I expand in abundance, success, and love each day and I inspire the same for others.’ I used that all through my labor with my daughter.  It will always be a favorite.

What is your biggest dream?

It sounds cliche but we want to teach women how to make shit tons of money and rise to positions of power and influence at all levels (business, politics) BUT from their divine feminine energy.  While there are increasingly more women holding positions of power, they typically rise by embodying masculine energy...which ultimately does nothing to breakdown the patriarchy.  A woman taking action from her divine feminine can actually make far more money than a man or woman in their masculine energy.
