I'd love it if you'd introduce yourself, what you do, and what you're working on.
Hi my name Tanya Valentin, I am an author, podcaster and Archetype Mentor for women. I support midlife moms of tweens and teens who are experiencing change in their lives to reconnect with themselves and have a life that feels authentic to who they are.
I am the author of two books, my latest being When She Wakes, She Will Move Mountains and I currently in the process of writing my third book that explores healing our Lover and reconnecting with our sexuality.
How did you get started?
I have always known that I wanted to be an author from a very young child. Even from a young age I got the sense that words were my personal legend.
What Inspired the work you’re doing?
Even though writing was something that I felt called to do, I spent a large part of my adult years not writing, not creating. I was living in what I call in my book and as Don Miguel Ruiz mentions in his work in the “dream of my domestication”. It took meeting a woman who challenged and confronted me to start to crack myself open and to start writing again. My first book was written and published when I was 44.
What is your biggest passion? Do you feel like you're living your passion and purpose?
My biggest passion is writing. When I am in front of my computer,or getting a download from my creative genius I feel in flow and it is magical and beautiful.
(I am also very passionate about my dog, Luna!)
What is your joy blueprint? What lights you up, brings you joy, and makes you feel the most alive?
I enjoy getting out connecting with nature. I love the ocean and swimming in her waves, I like walking in the bush, camping and sitting under the stars and moon by a outdoor fire. I feel alive when I am with my family and connecting with like-hearted souls and mutual truth-sharing.
How do you live intentionally? Are there tools/resources/practices that you rely on to help you stay mindful and grounded?
Over the years I have built in a moment of solitude and quiet at the beginning of the day. I start each day reading poetry, I practice gratitude, I pray and meditate. This helps me to stay grounded and to live my life with focus and a sense of inner peace.
What would your younger self think about what you're doing now?
I think that she would be really proud of me. She didn’t like me much when I buried her under all of the “stuff” while I was “living the dream” I know that she would be happy that I found my voice and that I am writing again.
Do you have a go-to mantra or affirmation?
The cave I fear to enter holds the treasure that I seek. This Joseph Campbell quote helps me to remember that I needn’t be afraid of challenges and obstacles in my path. That everything is happening for me.
What is your biggest dream?
Wow, this changes from time to time at the moment I dream of being a full-time author and being able to travel once again an meet amazing new people.
