I’m so excited for you to connect with Sophia, check out her podcast, and follow along as she continues to create a space for unfiltered conversations were we can laugh, cry, and grow together to help twenty somethings through the transition of their twenties.
I'd love it if you'd introduce yourself, what you do, and what you're working on.
Hi! My name is Sophia Lorena. I am a twenty year old from California. I am the host or The Shit Show Of My Twenties Podcast. I love writing, hiking, and going to personal development events
How did you get started?
I started my podcast back in April after getting furloughed from my job for almost three months. I have always wanted to start a podcast but I was worried about putting myself out there. I had a couple life changing moments this past year that made me realize how precious life is and how it is time for me to start living full out.
What inspired the work that you're doing?
I am an avid podcaster listener. I have been listening to Lewis Howes and Ed Mylett for years. Podcasts were the start of my own personal development journey. I wanted an opportunity to get into deep conversations with people over zoom and be able to ask any questions I wanted to. I am so glad I did because I have met over 95 incredible individuals from all over the world. Met so many new friends and have heard so many incredible stories.
What is your biggest passion? Do you feel like you're living your passion and purpose?
My passion is being able to hold space for others and help them get out of their own way. I love seeing people get out of their own way and go after what they want and truly feeling worthy of the life they want to create. I feel like I am on my way to living that and I am building the systems to make that my new reality.
What is your joy blueprint? What lights you up, brings you joy, and makes you feel the most alive?
I think it is truly the little things that bring me joy. Seeing my cousins play. Going on a long walk along the beach with a friend. Having a deep conversation and realizing I am not alone in what I am experiencing. Seeing someone realize how many gifts they have and how amazing they truly are. Spending time with my mom and laughing until I feel like I am going to cry. Singing at the top of my lungs in the car even though I am a bad singer or so my mom says.
I feel the most alive when I am present in the moment and I am not in worry. I am in a space of wonder.
How do you live intentionally? Are there tools/resources/practices that you rely on to help you stay mindful and grounded?
I start my day by working out and dancing around my house. I like to go and sit barefoot on the grass every weekend to get grounded. I love to listen to the podcast on the grass and get centered.
What would your younger self think about what you're doing now?
I think my younger self would be shocked. I was always the shy girl in school and I think I really took that identity on to protect myself. I was bullied growing up and I thought if I was quiet they would bother me less. I think she would be proud that I am finally putting myself out there and finally getting out of my own way.
Do you have a go-to mantra or affirmation?
What is meant for you will never pass you by.
What is your biggest dream?
My biggest personal dream is to get married and to adopt children.
My biggest dream is to quit my day job and do my podcast full time. I would love to host retreats all over the world and do coaching sessions to help women get out of their own way. I would love to speak on stages and record an interview at 9am on a Monday morning. I would love to have a life full of freedom and abundance.
