Sandy Cowen

Sandy Cowen has always been dedicated to the empowerment of others as an entrepreneur, community leader and expert on the holistic healing process. Now, an author and speaker, in her latest book, “HI MOMMA, IT’S ME” she shares her gift as a “reluctant medium”, which she kept hidden for more than thirty years.

Prompted by her son’s passing, Sandy’s new work shares her story to help others find peace and even joy in the face of profound loss by being open to the concept that staying connected can actually occur.

I’m so excited for you to connect with Sandy, check out her new book, and follow along as she continues to use her gifts to connect across dimensions to bring insight and clarity on a range of topics to enrich the human experience.

I'd love it if you'd introduce yourself, what you do, and what you're working on.

My name is Sandy Cowen and for 30-years I was President and founder of The Cowen Agency, Inc., a multi-million-dollar, full-service marketing communications firm based in Phoenix, Arizona. From that point on, I’ve done national/international strategic image positioning consulting work for a variety of major corporations and throughout those years, served on countless nonprofit boards as a community leader.  I am now, also considered, an expert in the holistic healing process with a book I previous wrote in 2008, titled GET WELL – EVEN WHEN YOU’VE BEEN TOLD YOU CAN’T – the first and only holistic healing handbook, which is process oriented – not prescriptive. My basis for that book was recovering, outside of conventional medicine without pharmaceutical drugs from a host of auto-immune/immune deficiency diseases including: rheumatoid arthritis, leukemia (twice), psoriasis, chronic allergies, hyperthyroidism and neutropenia. It was during that lengthy holistic healing journey (happening simultaneously with the rest of my life) that I learned to clear my mind and eventually could then, hear the whispers. I had become a “reluctant medium” about 30-years ago and kept it a secret until the passing of my son in 2018, which was the catalyst for my newest book, “HI MOMMA, IT’S ME” , a book that explains why souls stay connected forever and the power of undying love.  With this book, I’m “out of the closet” so to speak.

My focus today is on the path to bring to everyone the possibility of connecting across dimensions, how such relationships benefit both sides, and sharing the wisdom that is send to me through nearly 400 messages, to date, from friends, family, angels, guides, Ascended Masters and the Divine. Relationships and friendships are a key part of life – as my audio tape attests, and who says that process must remain horizontal?

How did you get started?

That’s a tough question, since I have lived 76-years and I’ve accomplished so much in my life, it’s difficult to know where the beginning of anything was. But, in terms of connecting with the beyond, as I mention in the audio tape, it began when I learned to quiet my mind to help mitigate the pain of rheumatoid arthritis. I found when my mind was still the pain lessened a bit and when my mind race, the pain intensified. Out of necessity (since I was off all prescribed medications the time) I learned to keep my mind totally still, in fact blank. I am almost always living in the moment without extraneous thought – which allows me to receive. At first the messages were from spirits who were stuck and I helped them transition (probably 1500 – of which I have records). Then, actual detailed messages came about 12-years later, complete messages that I transcribed, word-for-word. I have copies of between 350-400 and am able to quote from them verbatim for articles and books. I am not a commercial medium, do not do this for others or charge for this service. The information is meant to share in the collective – to help others, so I am doing so in books and blogs.

What inspired the work that you're doing?

The inspiration was my son Jon, when he passed on July 2, 2018. I heard him struggle with his transition, not long after his death because he was so confused – he had no idea what had happened to him. It was painful for me to hear since I was in shock myself, from his loss. But, over all this time, Jon remains in contact with message after message to me, probably 3 or 4 a month – and it was my son who urged me to share with others what he and I now enjoy and to let them know that this is possible for them, too. He gave me the title for my newest book and frankly, pestered me to write it. I began the book on what would have been his 50thbirthday (October 7, 2019) and ironically finished it on Easter Sunday, 2020. It was released in October, 2020. This was, no doubt, an inspired work. There will be another book to follow.

What is your biggest passion? Do you feel like you're living your passion and purpose?

My passion is exactly what I am doing and what I will be doing for the remainder of my life. I have never felt such love, such joy and such a sense of family as having this extraordinary universe of connections on the other side. I am quite spiritual and God speaks to me from time-to-time, as does Jesus and Mother Mary but being totally open, I have also heard from Buddha and even Pegan gods such as Isis . Each message is written down – and I guess you could say I’m some sort of a spiritual secretary. I am respectful of all religions although I don’t believe a person has to worship in the collective to be connected to the Almighty. I am led daily to do this work.

What is your joy blueprint? What lights you up, brings you joy, and makes you feel the most alive?

The gift of life gives me joy. I struggled with life-threatening and debilitating illnesses for many years and now being totally healthy, aging youthfully and waking up each day looking and feeling much younger than my 7 (plus) -decades can’t do anything but bring joy. Add to that, the fact that although I live alone and the only family I have are Jon’s 3 children (Charlie 20, Jack 19 and Lucy 14), whom I see routinely – I am never lonely. I receive so many surprise visits from the other side, and of course, feel my son, Jon, with me constantly. How can I be anything but joyful?

How do you live intentionally? Are there tools/resources/practices that you rely on to help you stay mindful and grounded?

When a person is able to live in the moment – and is guided in this work, I just do the best I can every day and each day is full of surprises, and a gift. I think gratitude fuels abundance and joy – and I live each day in eternal gratitude.  My work makes me happy.  Sharing the wisdom I’m given makes me happy and my intention is so focused, I don’t need much other discipline to stay mindful and grounded.  I wake each morning, read Jesus Calling, talk to God and pledge to do His work.  After that, with a clear mind – and living in the moment, life is a piece of cake.

What would your younger self think about what you're doing now?

She’d just smile.

Do you have a go-to mantra or affirmation?

No.  I have a blank mind, grateful heart and try to let God’s love flow through every day onto everyone I meet, so each experience makes me smile and I hope I am contributing to a better world. My work is then the more concrete contribution I make, through the blogs on my website – articles and books.

What is your biggest dream?

To make a difference, a big difference.
