Misty Sansom is a writer and life purpose coach who helps people to figure out exactly what they’re meant to do in life and how to make it happen.

Her philosophy is that we all have a purpose; something we are *meant* to do - but often, we struggle with how to find it, how to articulate it, and how to bring it to life. She guides people through this process through 1:1 coaching, her monthly membership and her ‘Find Your Purpose’ eBook.

Misty’s approach to purpose, spirituality and personal growth is practical, down to earth and simple to follow. Her work has been featured on the Huffington Post, the Daily Guru, MindBodyGreen and more.

I’m so excited for you to connect with Misty, check out her work, and follow along as she continues to help people to figure out exactly what they’re meant to do in life and how to make it happen.

I'd love it if you'd introduce yourself, what you do, and what you're working on.

Hello! I’m Misty Sansom, and I’m a life purpose coach based in New Zealand. I spend my days coaching, writing and creating resources for people to get them closer to uncovering and living their purpose.

How did you get started?

The work I do now started from uncovering my own purpose - which is to help others find theirs. It led to creating a process that other people could follow, then to an eBook and other resources and offerings. This naturally led to coaching, both 1:1 and in groups.

What inspired the work that you're doing?

In some ways, I’ve always been drawn to this. I’ve always felt compelled to help people understand and learn more about themselves and their potential. Experiencing loss and feeling the fragility of life helped to give me the push I needed to actually do it, rather than taking the ‘safe’ but not as fulfilling road.

What is your biggest passion? Do you feel like you're living your passion and purpose?

Absolutely. My purpose in life is to help others find theirs, and this is what my life’s work is dedicated to. I’m able to bring my purpose to life through my passions, which are around connecting with people, business, creativity and psychology - I’m so interested in why we do what we do, how we think and how that impacts the world around us.

What is your joy blueprint? What lights you up, brings you joy, and makes you feel the most alive?

The simple things in life. I love being out in nature, particularly at the beach. I also love good food and being around friends, family and loved ones. So, a shared dinner in the sun with good friends and family is the ultimate in joy for me. It’s always so much fun, and for me, what life is all about.

How do you live intentionally? Are there tools/resources/practices that you rely on to help you stay mindful and grounded?

I’m mum to a four year old, and children have the most wonderful way of pulling you into the moment and staying grounded. They live very much in the moment, and their outlook is such a powerful reminder to be where you are and focus on what you’re doing. So, I take that on as much as possible, and try and be present and mindful in whatever it is that I’m doing...to varying degrees of success, but the intention is there!

What would your younger self think about what you're doing now?

Younger me would be so stoked, because it was something I was drawn to without understanding what ‘it’ really was. But I had a few years where I moved away from this path in favour of something that seemed more ‘sensible’. It felt so good to lean into the work that I’ve always known I was meant to do!

Do you have a go-to mantra or affirmation?

This is more of a business and work related mantra, but ‘done is better than perfect’ is one that I remind myself of often. In the past, I’ve got too caught up in trying to make things perfect before moving forward. And if you can relate to this, you’ll know that you never end up moving forward if you keep trying to make everything perfect. Done is better!

What is your biggest dream?

Ohh this is a big question! It would be along the lines of what I’m already working toward; to help as many people as possible find and live their purpose. The world is rapidly and drastically changing, and to live with purpose is more important now that ever.
