Hello Beautiful Soul, My name Melissa Bates, I am a Certified Health Coach and a Certified Eating Psychology Coach. My main mission within my business is to help females struggling with dieting heal their relationship with food in order to truly show up and get to the next level in their business. I host a weekly podcast called The Wellness Wolf that talks about all things Intuitive Eating, Mindset, Movement, and Empowerment. At the moment, I am creating a new 12 week group program Called “Revamp, Recharge, and Reclaim You” for business entrepreneurs that feel stuck and lack confidence in their nutrition and business. It is geared to build solid foundational relationships within food, body, and mind in order to fully step into their confident self and excel in their business!

How did you get started?

My journey into coaching began 3 years ago, I went to The Integrative Institute of Nutrition to become a certified health coach and then a few years later I followed it up by studying to be a certified eating psychology coach as well to dive deeper into the mind and habits that we form as humans.

What inspired the work that you're doing?

Throughout my life, I fought my own battle with body image, binge eating, chronic dieting, over exercising, and bulimia. Once I was able to heal my battle and actually learn that life is more than dieting, I knew my mission was to help females do the same. After I took the leap to tackle my own journey, I developed a new joy for living and growing in life. It opened up so many avenues and I realized that when my relationship with food was off, it also spread over to my personal and professional life. I didn’t realize how much it was holding me back until I was on the other side of it completely. I knew at that point, I wanted to help other females do the same as well.

What is your biggest passion? Do you feel like you're living your passion and purpose?

My biggest passion is helping females find their true worth & value as they heal their relationship with mind, body, and food. It warms the hell out of my heart when a client tells me they have been able to gain control back of their life and are able to seek out different joys. I do feel like I am fully living my passion and purpose.

What is your joy blueprint? What lights you up, brings you joy, and makes you feel the most alive?

My joy blueprint! Wow, I would have to say chasing the hell out of my goals, traveling and experiencing other cultures, spending quality time with friends and family, and eating/cooking some damn tasty food! Throughout my life, I have been able to explore different places and I feel like each country has left its mark on me in some way or another. I spent over four years of my life living in South Korea and that brought joy to me as I dived into a completely new culture and language. It opened my eyes and thought process up to many different scenarios that truly challenged me and allowed me to see that I have all the tools to continually survive and move forward.

How do you live intentionally? Are there tools/resources/practices that you rely on to help you stay mindful and grounded?

I truly rely on moving my body daily even if it’s just a simple 10-15 minute walk around my neighborhood. I thrive on nourishing my body with well balanced meals and I also eat foods that I crave because it’s simply okay. I keep myself at a level that will continually challenge me. I feel like there is always room for growth and learning as we age over the years. Also, when situations get rough, I always try to look at them in a positive manner, learn from them, and know that I am capable of getting through it.

What would your younger self think about what you're doing now?

My younger self would be screaming at the top of her lungs saying HELL TO THE YES! You have finally figured out to embrace you and this crazy beautiful world. You took your battles of the past and brought so much light to them to help others daily.

Do you have a go-to mantra or affirmation?

Hmmmm.... I would have to say my go-to mantra would be “Keep showing up even with baby steps because baby steps will take you farther than single leaps.”

What is your biggest dream?

My biggest dream would be to create safe spaces around the world in retreat form where women can travel and come together, heal, connect with each other, and find full confidence to fully show up in their personal and professional lives.
