Emily Polner is a native New Yorker, content creator, and a social media and SEO strategist. She’s the founder and editor-in-chief of No Repeats or Hesitations, an online fashion, beauty, and lifestyle destination.

Emily has been creating and optimizing content for over five years for companies big and small, including Rebecca Minkoff and her alma mater, the University of Chicago. Emily started her blog in 2014 when she was a freshman in college with the desire to share her fashion, beauty, and lifestyle tips with other college students and 20-somethings. On her blog you’ll find everything from styling advice on how to wear your most-loved pieces in unexpected ways, shopping guides and advice to score the best deals, to in-depth beauty reviews on both drugstore and high-end products.

No repeats or Hesitations has since evolved into an international destination for styling tips and inspiration, travel guides, beauty reviews, and more. Today, Emily works full-time in SEO at a digital publication. She publishes blog posts every Wednesday and Instagram content 5x per week. She’s produced sponsored content for brands across all different verticals, such as Aveeno, Primark, M&M’S, Revlon, and more.

I’m so excited for you guys to connect with Emily, check out her blog and her work, and follow along as she continues to produce innovative, cool, thought-provoking, and high-quality visual and written content.

I'd love it if you'd introduce yourself, what you do, and what you're working on.

I'm Emily Polner, a native New Yorker, content creator, as well as a social media and SEO strategist. I'm the founder and editor-in-chief of norepeatsorhesitations.com, an online fashion, beauty, and lifestyle destination. I've been creating and optimizing content for over five years for companies big and small, including Rebecca Minkoff and my alma mater, the University of Chicago.

How did you get started?

My journey with fashion, content creation, and self-expression began way back when I was in high school with Tumblr. I used to be obsessed with Tumblr and curated my edgy aesthetic on that platform originally. Eventually, I outgrew Tumblr and decided I wanted an online space dedicated to my original content. When I was a freshman in college, I started my blog, No Repeats or Hesitations, from my dorm room and have been running it ever since. My blog led to my career in digital and content marketing.

What inspired the work that you're doing?

A lot of the work I do for my blog is inspired by the fact that I don't see a lot of other platforms exactly like mine or influencers who dress like me. When it came to choosing a career path, I couldn't decide between doing creative work or strategy, so I do both! I love being an art director and shooting photos and video, but I also love to keep tabs on competitors and analyze trends. Social media and SEO allow me to switch gears a ton.

What is your biggest passion? Do you feel like you're living your passion and purpose?

My biggest passion is producing innovative, cool, thought-provoking, and high-quality content, whether that's visual or written. I strive to produce the best work I possibly can - I've literally scrapped entire photo shoots in the past because I didn't feel they were my absolute best work. I feel like I'm getting closer to living my passion and purpose every day, but I'm not 100% of the way there yet. That's a goal I'm working on achieving right now.

What is your joy blueprint? What lights you up, brings you joy, and makes you feel the most alive?

Directing an incredible photo shoot is such an amazing feeling. Writing content that will help someone be their best self/live their best life is equally empowering and satisfying. Not gonna lie, ice cream brings me joy, too.

How do you live intentionally? Are there tools/resources/practices that you rely on to help you stay mindful and grounded?

Even though I maintain a strong digital presence, I try to live in the moment as much as possible. I love to document things and take photos of everything, but I try to be careful and not overdo it, especially when I'm spending time with family and loved ones. In addition, I strive to keep an open mind with everything. I'll try anything at least once - you'll never know if you like something if you don't give it a chance.

What would your younger self think about what you're doing now?

She'd be so impressed that I lived our dream of working in fashion and she'd love the blog, so I think she'd be really proud.

Do you have a go-to mantra or affirmation?

Go after what you want and don't let anyone (including yourself) get in the way of your happiness and success.

What is your biggest dream?

My ultimate dream is to open my own digital marketing agency and work remotely. I want to have a virtual office so I can travel. I want to help businesses across all industries achieve success through social media and content marketing. That and to have my own accessories line! I'm obsessed with purses, jewelry, and hair accessories.
