Samuel Moore-Sobel
Samuel Moore-Sobel is an author, speaker and columnist. His debut memoir, "Can You See My Scars?" is the story of a harrowing encounter with sulfuric acid, trauma and severe burns. His book is currently available for purchase on Amazon. He has been invited to share his story with audiences across the country and offers practical advice on how to overcome adversity. He has a degree in government and international politics and currently lives with his wife in Northern Virginia.
When he was 15 years old, Samuel was in an accident involving sulfuric acid. He suffered second- and third-degree burns as a result, and he spent years in and out of doctor's offices, underwent numerous surgical operations, and struggled with his mental health. Samuel’s journey has shown him that we all have scars, both physical and emotional. It's not so much a question of whether we will face adversity, but how we will choose to respond once it arrives. In writing “Can You See My Scars?” Samuel has captured his decade long journey of physical and emotional recovery. He wanted others to know about his struggles with faith, friends, romantic relationships, and what it means to be human. He wanted to share how he made peace with his scars too. Samuel has overcome the odds to reach a place of healing. His unexpected journey with trauma, burns, and recovery is a powerful reminder that we can overcome the adversity we’re facing in our lives and make a difference by sharing your scars with others.
